Privacy Policy
In short: My Motivation Journal does not collect, store or share any personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you choose in the app stays on your iPhone.
Who we are
My Motivation Journal (“the app”) is published by Teslim Adeyanju, an independent developer based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how the app handles information. It applies to the iPhone app and its home-screen widget.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect or receive any personal data from you. In particular, the app:
- does not ask you to create an account or sign in
- does not collect your name, email address, phone number, location or contacts
- does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and contains no third-party advertising or analytics code
- does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites
- does not send your settings, favourites or photos to us or to anyone else
Information stored only on your device
To work, the app saves some settings on your iPhone. This information never leaves your device through the app, and we cannot see it.

If your iPhone is set to back up to iCloud or a computer, this information may be included in that backup, which is controlled by you and Apple under Apple’s terms.
Photos
If you choose to use your own photo as a background, the app uses Apple’s built-in photo picker. The app does not get access to your photo library. It only receives the single photo you select. A resized copy is saved inside the app’s private storage on your iPhone. It is never uploaded. You can replace it at any time from the Style screen, and deleting the app removes it.
Notifications
Quote reminders are local notifications created and scheduled on your iPhone. No notification server is involved, and no information is sent anywhere to deliver them. You can turn reminders off in the app’s Settings, or in iPhone Settings › Notifications.
Purchases and subscriptions
My Motivation Journal Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes all payments. We never see or receive your payment card details, name or Apple ID. The app receives confirmation from Apple that a subscription is active, so it can unlock Premium features on your device. Apple’s handling of your purchase information is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iPhone Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or from the app’s Settings screen.
Background refresh
The app may ask iOS to wake it briefly in the background to top up your scheduled reminders. This happens entirely on your iPhone and sends no data anywhere.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. Because it collects no personal data, it does not knowingly collect information from children of any age.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal data held about you, including the right of access and the right to erasure. Because we do not collect or hold any personal data about you, we have nothing to access, correct or delete. To remove everything the app has stored on your iPhone, simply delete the app.
If you have concerns about how your data is handled, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and change the effective date above. If we ever start collecting any personal data, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy details before that version of the app is released.
