In MySQL, the INT data type is used to store whole numbers, which are numbers without a fractional component. This includes both positive and negative integers as well as zero. Examples of integers include 1, 100, 4, -10. Non-integer examples are 1.2 or 5/3, which cannot be stored in an INT column.
